Biography
Before being elected as a state representative, I served as the CEO for the Ohio Physical Therapy Association (OPTA) for 7 years. During my time at OPTA one priority was making health care and physical therapy directly available to patients.
Before returning to Ohio, where I was born and raised on a farm in Washington Court House, I worked in Washington, D.C., first, as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill and, second, as an advocate for the American Optometric Association, and finally as the Director of Government Affairs for the American Physical Therapy Association. All of these positions gave me the opportunity to work towards providing a better health care system for our nation’s citizens. During my time in DC I helped develop the original Patient's Bill of Rights and worked on similar legislation in Ohio to simplify insurance for patients and providers.
I am also a clinical assistant professor at The Ohio State University School of Allied Medical Professions where I teach Health Policy in the physical therapy doctoral program, which helps me understand the complicated health care system we have.
I live in New Albany with my husband Roy Landreth, son Christian and our dog Peyton. Christian is a sophomore at The Ohio State University majoring in Political Science and a member of Air Force ROTC. My daughter is an attorney and a proud graduate of Miami University. My husband works for the Workforce Investment Board for Franklin County and Columbus to provide jobs and training for people who have lost their jobs. I served on the Franklin County Hospital Commission and am an active member of my church, All Saints Episcopal Church in New Albany.
